Train like I am preparing for a photoshoot
I’m back! Back to wanting to recapture the look and feeling I had when I was modeling.
Preparing for photoshoots kept me in great shape when modeling. I was working out regularly, almost daily, depending on the type of shoot I was going for. I was always in shape, energized, and ready for the next photoshoot. I had a consistent workout plan and a consistent eating routine. My day would start with waking up EARLY, getting an intense workout in, enough to drink a half gallon of water. This was followed by a protein filled breakfast consisting of several hard boiled eggs, toast, peanut butter, and a large bowl of oatmeal; or a hearty shake filled with fruit, and a healthy scoop of protein powder, perfect for washing down a handful of vitamins. Modeling set me up with strict goals and habits. Each workout was precise, written to sculpt me without taking up too much time. I’d normally finish my workout within an hour, and without having to set foot inside a gym. It was all done based on my lifestyle and surroundings; at home, work, outdoors or traveling, my workout was always accomplished. The best part, I was always energized throughout the day and slept great at night. |

Naturally, looking back years later I realize that if I want to make 2018 one of my healthiest years…God Willing. I need to train like I am preparing for a photoshoot again; implement the habits and desire I had when I was modeling for the camera. I must re-apply the habits that kept me in model-shape and develop a new habits based on my current needs.
The most important aspect is having a specific plan of action and knowing it is based specifically to my needs. A style of training that I have tried in the past and the quickest way to kill motivation is working out to exhaustion for hours regularly without seeing improvements!
Let me give you some insight on my unique training style. I train based on my body type and body shape. My workouts are focused on strength training; cardio is secondary and is intertwined within my program. I never spot train, I trained all of my curves. Training one body part at a time was not for me, it wouldn’t create that hourglass figure I desired. I trained my whole body from different angles with different exercises, giving me that curvaceous model look that felt great and looked amazing on me. The speed and style of my workouts fit my personality and body's natural tempo. Therefore, I saw and felt the results quicker which kept me motivated and will continue to encourage me to establish more advanced fitness goals this year.
